Calculation of Transmission of Photons

Transmission calculations are calculations in which the reduction of the intensity of a beam of photons is performed for a "narrow beam geometry", using total
attenuation coefficients and the well known exponential equation

(Equation 1)

i = I e-μ(a) d, where

The photon intensity in transmission calculations is normally defined in terms of photon flux, i.e., in (number of photons) / cm2. Transmission calculations are straightforward and accurate. Attenuation coefficients are posted on the WWW.
